For my project I was inspired by horror and the psychological genre. On the bottom of the canvas I wanted to convey chaos of the mind. I cluttered that area with different copies of my hands all around my face as if it were trying to grab my face. I have a hand coming out of my mouth for a disturbing factor. All of this is to show the chaos of the mind.
On the top of the canvas, there is white space to show peace. Even the copy of my face is shown in a peaceful state. The hand coming from that forehead is trying to give the other hand reaching out of my mouth a sun, which is symbolizing light in the darkness.
The art movements that inspired this were Expressionism and Dada. I wanted to convey a feeling rather than a physical object, and there really was no rhyme or reason for my placements.
